《中华狮》是当代艺术家郭佳杰的代表系列。是他 神兽主题的开山之作。艺术家偶然的机会看到日本画家 小松美羽的狛犬作品，这激发了他的创作灵感，狛犬起 源于印度，与佛教一起从中国经由朝鲜半岛传入日本， 中文名叫石狮子。艺术家通过对中国石狮、舞狮的研究， 和对南方舞狮历史与文化传承的严苛学习以及对现阶段 国内外狮兽主题艺术作品的了解与分析，郭佳杰认为中 国之狮不单纯是一个物相，而是一席精魂!想要真正传 达出中华舞狮的历史沧桑和浑厚之美，一定不能只停留 在肤浅的炫技和模糊的形态表现上。一定是要将绘画张 力与相貌细节表达的浑然天成，要严格把控文化内核的 细枝末节，要从视觉感受上第一时间扣住观者心脉。最 终他选择用射墨技法，用大胆色彩，用看似凌乱又形态 清晰的运笔手法来刻画中华自古传承下来的刘备狮、关 羽狮、张飞狮、黄忠狮、赵云狮、马超狮等六种不同含 义的南方舞狮，将三维的神兽从二维的纸端拔将出来。 从而将南方千百年来传承的醒狮形象刻画的栩栩如生， 霸气十足又不适温良。而勇气、担当、勃发又温良正是 艺术家希望赋予自己神兽们的品质，他始终希望这些神 兽可以通过艺术的手段来到世人中间，让这些分别代表 着智、仁、勇、正义、忠诚的精灵成为真正带有庇护能 力的陪伴者。希望每个与醒狮对视的观者都能看见从它 双眸中射出的万丈光芒。


China lion is a representative series of the contemporary artist Jerry Guo. It is his earliest work for the theme of mythical creatures. The artist read the work of Miwa Komatsu by an occasional opportunity for koma-inu which stimulated his inspiration for creation. Koma-inu is originated from India which was introduced to Japan from China and the Korean Peninsula along with Buddhism. The Chinese name of koma-inu is Chinese guardian lions. The artist Jerry Guo conducted a research on the Chinese guardian lions and dancing lions with a harsh study on the history of dancing lions in the south and the inheritance of the culture in addition to the knowledge and analysis on the domestic artwork with the theme of lion animals at the current stage. He thinks the lion of China is not just a phase in purity but rather a sheet of spirit! The true expression for the long history and strong beauty of dancing lions in China must not be presented by the superficial virtuosity and the ambiguous manifestation. It must be presented with the natural blend of drawing tension and facial details with the strict control for the details of the cultural core to catch the attention of viewers on visual perception in the first time. He selected the technique of shooting ink in final with the bold color and the seemingly chaotic practices with distinct form to depict the six dancing lions in the south which are Liu Bei Lion, Guan Yu Lion, Zhang Fei Lion, Huang Zhong Lion, Zhao Yun Lion, and Ma Chao Lion with different meanings inherited since the ancient time of China that erects the mystical creatures from 2 dimensions to 3 dimensions on paper. He vividly depicts the image of the awakening lion inherited in the south of China for thousands of years with thorough arrogance and appropriate mildness. It is the very quality in the intention of the artist for his mythical creatures with courage, responsibility, prosperity, and warmth. He sincerely hopes that these mythical creatures will come to the mortal world by means of art and let those spirits which represent wisdom, kindness, courage, justice, and loyalty respectively truly be the companion with the capability of protection. He hopes that every viewer can see the shine in all its splendor radiated from the eyes of the awakening lion in each of the eye contact.
