杭天的草书书法直承宋、明古风，极力避开清代以来尤其当下世俗书风的面貌，故反而能给今人耳目一新的感觉。
书法，尤其是草书艺术，是手上技巧、心中情绪的同时迸发，是构图、线条等视觉美感、舞蹈感、节奏感和模仿能力、创新能力等素质的综合体现，及语言文字修养的积累，堪称人类智慧所能创造的最高层次的艺术之一。

Hang Tian is an artist, singer\songwriter, and scholar of ancient Chinese ceramics who combines his passion for traditional Chinese culture with contemporary art and music to produce works that straddle the border between traditional and modern.
He was born in Tangshan, China, and has spent his adult life in Beijing, Chicago, and Columbia. As a young boy growing up in a mining town Hang Tian spent much of his time practicing Chinese painting and calligraphy. When he got to Beijing he discovered western music, and used the form to produce three albums. His music is inspired by American roots and blues, both in the musical style and the politically committed tenor of his lyrics.
